- Saqsayhuaman: “Satisfied Falcon.” It was the largest Inca temple ever built. It served as a fortress for the Inca resistance in the fight against the Spanish. It eventually became a quarry used in the construction of colonial Cusco.
- Qenqo: “Labyrinth.” Considered a temple dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Nature), it was possibly a site for mummification or animal sacrifices such as llamas.
