The Rainbow Mountain ATV tour is one of our exclusive and innovative products, offering a faster and more accessible way to reach the mountain. Instead of a one-hour uphill hike, we replace it with a 20-minute ATV or motorcycle ride up Vinikunka Mountain. First, we’ll pick up your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. and continue through the South Valley. We’ll observe different landscapes and the daily life of the local people on the journey. We’ll reach the Pitumarca district on a two-hour drive from Cusco. We’ll have our Andean buffet breakfast before passing through Checacupe and heading to our base in Ccairahuiri. At this base, the guide will instruct us on how to use our ATVs. After a safe practice session and receiving the instructor’s approval, instead of hiking for an hour uphill, we’ll take the adventure of riding ATVs on a 20-minute ascent to the impressive Rainbow Mountain in Vinicunca (VINIKUNKA), declared a “Unique Natural Treasure in the World.” Rainbow Mountain is located at 5,036 meters above sea level. Our guide will explain the mountain’s topography, ecosystem, and color, a natural wonder created by the oxides of the different minerals that make up these geological formations. From this point, you’ll have a stunning view of Apu Ausangate. You should know that the mountain is almost as high as Everest Base Camp, which is located at 5,389 meters above sea level. Once you’ve completed the tour and mountain visit, you’ll head to the base to drop off your ATVs and then head to the restaurant to enjoy lunch.
