Itinerary
FIRST DAY: Arrival In Cusco And City Tour
According to the arrival time, our staff will welcome you at the airport so we can head to the hotel where we will check in and in the afternoon take our first tour, the city tour.
The Cusco City Tour is a unique 5-hour experience that immerses you in the historical and archaeological heart of the imperial city. Visit the 5 most important tourist attractions in Cusco, revealing the fascinating Inca and colonial legacy.
Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun): An ancient Inca temple dedicated to the Sun God, upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Marvel at the Inca architecture and colonial paintings that narrate the fusion of two cultures.
Sacsayhuamán: An imposing ceremonial fortress located 2 km from the center of Cusco. See its immense platforms of cyclopean stones and enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
Qenqo: A sacred amphitheater that symbolized the connection between the earthly and spiritual worlds. Discover its mysterious passages and monoliths.
Puca Pucara: A military fortress that offered protection and control to the Inca city. Its name, which means “Red Fortress,” comes from the color its stones take on at sunset.
Tambomachay: Known as the “Temple of Water,” this site was a resting place for the Inca nobility, surrounded by perfectly carved fountains and canals.
SECOND DAY: Sacred Valley
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. We will then travel by tourist transport to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
We will begin the visit in Pisac, a site made up of groups of archaeological remains, including terraces, aqueducts, paths associated with walls and gateways, channeled waterways, cemeteries, and bridges.
We will then have a buffet lunch in the city of Ollantaytambo, where we will sample Peruvian cuisine.
We will then visit Ollantaytambo, a site built during the Inca period as a fortified area that includes a temple, terraces, and an urban area. Two sectors can be distinguished: one called “Araqama Ayllu,” an area linked to worship and religion; and the second, “Qosqo Ayllu,” a complex dedicated to housing.
At the end of our tour, we will stay in the city of Ollantaytambo to board our train to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night before visiting Machu Picchu the next day.
THIRD DAY: Visit to MachuPicchu
After breakfast, we’ll head to the bus station and take a bus to Machu Picchu (25 minutes).Upon arrival, we’ll have a little free time to use the restroom and get ready for the magnificent visit. We begin our tour of this Wonder of the World, spending approximately two and a half hours walking and receiving information from our guide. The guided tour will cover the main parts of the citadel, starting at the highest point (the guardian’s house), where you can take the classic photos that appear on postcards and magazine covers. We will then visit the park’s most important sites, such as the Agricultural Zone, Llaqta Punku (entrance gate), Granary Zone, Temple of the Sun, Water Fountains, House of the Inca, Main Plaza, Temple of the Three Windows, Intiwatana, Zone of the Wayranas, Huayna Picchu Gate, Industrial Zone, Water Mirrors, and Temple of the Condor. At the end of the tour, we will take a 25-minute bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon we must be ready at the train station to take the return train, which will bring us back to Ollantaytambo station (an hour and a half trip). There, our transfer will be waiting for us with your names to take us back to Cusco.
FOURTH DAY: South Valley
We will begin our pickup from your hotel around 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. We will then depart south of Cusco, enjoying beautiful landscapes. The first stop will be the archaeological site of Tipón, an Inca ceremonial center where a stone channel controlled the flow of water from the high peaks of Pachatusan Hill to the lowlands of the valley. Afterwards, we will visit the Pikillacta Archaeological Complex, which literally means “city of fleas.” It is an ancient walled citadel of the Wari Empire, which was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari culture during its expansion toward the city of Cusco. Finally, we will conclude the tour by visiting the beautiful Andahuaylillas Church, a small gem from the Colonial period, also known as “The Sistine Chapel of America.” Inside, we will find an impressive collection of paintings with gold-leafed frames and mural paintings, Baroque altarpieces, and more. We will also be able to admire the famous five-language door. We will be back in Cusco at approximately 3:00 p.m.
FIFTH DAY: Rainbow Mountain
This tour to Rainbow Mountain begins early in the morning. We’ll take you from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center to the South Valley. It takes almost two hours to reach Cusco, from where we’ll continue our journey for an hour to the town of Phulawasipata. Once we reach Phulawasipata, located at an altitude of 4,626 meters above sea level, we’ll begin our hike of almost an hour and a half along a beautiful stream. Along the way, you’ll be able to observe the surrounding wildlife, such as Andean camelids (llama and alpaca), and you might even see the Andean cat. Have your camera ready and document your journey! You’ll also see the highest snow-capped mountain in the region, the majestic and magical Apu Ausangate. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with the local community to learn about their ancestral customs, as well as see the vast fields cultivated with a wide variety of potatoes and other foods grown since the Inca era. After a 1.5-hour hike, you’ll be amazed by Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain or the Mountain of Seven Colors, which stands at an altitude of 5,020 meters above sea level. Record your experience! You’ll have time to explore the area, take photos, and rest (approximately 30 minutes at the summit). The return journey will take almost an hour along the same route as the arrival, where transportation will take you back to the community of Cusipata. Once in Cusipata, we’ll enjoy lunch. To conclude the tour, a van will take you to Cusco for almost two hours.
SIXTH DAY: Maras Moray
Our tour will begin with hotel pickup at 8:30 am.
MORAY. Located 7 km from Maras, an hour from Cusco along the Chinchero route, this is one of the most spectacular visits, home to circular terraces of varying sizes. These are agricultural experimentation terraces and places where feminine energy is concentrated, which is why it is considered a magnetic center of Pachamama.
MARAS SALT WORKS. Located northwest of the town of Maras. Known by some as “salt mines,” they consist of approximately 3,000 small wells. Salt has been obtained since pre-Hispanic times through a sun-drying system using salt water from an underground stream. Once the water has evaporated, the salt is ready for sale.
CHINCHERO CRAFT MARKET.
This town is located 28 km from Cusco on the paved road to Urubamba. Where the remains of what was the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui are located, it is like a beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations. Its greatest attraction, however, is its artisan market, originally dedicated to the barter of agricultural products between the community members of the valley and those of the higher elevations. Currently, the market is a true spectacle of color and movement that fascinates tourists with its offering of handicrafts and textiles made in the purest pre-Columbian style.
SEVENTH DAY: Humantay Lagoon
This incredible adventure begins early in the morning. We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center and head to the community of Soraypampa for our buffet breakfast and the start of the hike.
First, we’ll cross the town of Limatambo, located at an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level. This city was a vital access point to Cusco during Inca times. Here, you’ll see the archaeological remains of Tarawasi, an important resting place for those who traveled to Chinchaysuyo.
Then, we’ll continue the tour by car along the banks of the Apurímac River, surrounded by the Andean landscape. Get your camera ready and document your journey with photos!
Once we arrive at the community of Soraypampa, we begin the hike to Humantay Lagoon. Upon arrival, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Andean landscape and be amazed by the snow-capped Salkantay Mountains and the mysterious turquoise color of the lagoon. Before leaving, you’ll have time to take photos around the lagoon. We’ll have our buffet lunch.
At the end of the visit, you’ll walk back to the community of Soraypampa, where we’ll be waiting with a vehicle to make the trip to your hotel comfortable and allow you to rest.

Recomendations
- Arrive in Cusco well-rested. Try to relax upon arrival and avoid physical exertion on the first day to better adapt to the altitude.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and consider coca tea to help prevent altitude sickness.
- Pack layered clothing. The weather in Cusco and surrounding areas can vary greatly throughout the day. Be prepared for both warm days and chilly nights.
- Bring comfortable walking shoes. Many tours involve walking on uneven terrain, especially at archaeological sites like Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain.
- Use sun protection. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential since UV radiation is stronger at high altitudes.
- Carry your passport. You’ll need it to enter Machu Picchu and other archaeological sites. Keep it safe and dry.
- Be prepared for early departures. Most excursions begin early in the morning. Get enough rest and be ready on time.
- Take motion sickness medication if necessary. Some routes are winding and may cause discomfort.
- Bring local currency (Peruvian soles). Not all places accept credit or debit cards, particularly in remote areas and local markets.
- Respect local customs and traditions. Interact kindly with local communities and always ask before taking photos.
- Consider travel insurance. It’s not mandatory but recommended for unexpected situations such as medical needs or trip delays.
- Stay connected. Most hotels offer Wi-Fi, but internet service may be limited in remote areas like Machu Picchu or Rainbow Mountain.
