Itinerary

Full Day Uros Islands + Taquile

10:00 PM (Day 1) Departure from Cusco to Puno on a Cruz del Sur bus service, equipped with reclining seats, air conditioning, onboard amenities, blankets, pillows, and snacks.

4:30 AM (Day 2) Arrival at the Puno bus terminal. It is recommended to have breakfast inside the terminal until you wait for pickup by one of the guides we will provide the day before.

Approximately 7:00 AM. Pickup from the Puno bus terminal. We will head to the lake port of Puno to board a motorboat for a 45-minute trip to the floating island of the Uros. A friendly guide speaking English and Spanish will provide insight into the lives of the locals.

The Uros are a very ancient indigenous community made up of more than 40 islands, built by their inhabitants with totora reeds. These reeds are used for their homes, boats (rafts), fuel, and food. This excursion visits the main island and tours two or three islands for 30 minutes each (with the option of taking a ride on traditional totora reed boats).

Then, you continue your journey to Taquile Island. Upon arrival, you will have a 1-hour walk to reach the village. In Taquile, you will spend three hours exploring the area, observing the landscape and customs, and having lunch at a local restaurant where you will enjoy a typical trout lunch. You will have free time to explore the island and meet the locals, who will demonstrate their way of life through their textiles. You will return to Puno at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Puno at 5:00 p.m. Free time until 10:00 PM for the return to Cusco by Cruz del Sur bus, arriving in Cusco at 4:30 AM.
